Q. What are the ServSafe Managers class hours?

A. We start the class promptly at 8:00 a.m. and finish at approximately 5:30. The ending time depends on each individual and how long it takes them to finish the test. Students may leave as soon as they have completed the exam.

Q. Is the exam difficult to pass?

A. The exam consist 90 multiple answer questions. For most students who have prepared ahead of time by reading the study guide and taking the sample test that we send, completing the exam is not a problem.

Q. How long does it take to complete the exam?

A. The average time is about one hour.

Q. Can I prepare ahead of time for the class?

A. Yes, by studying the study guidek and doing the study questions at the end of each chapter and then using the practice exam that we send you will get you well on your way to achieving your goal.

Q. Can I take the test without sitting through the class?

A. Yes, if you believe that you have studied sufficiently or possibly this is a recertification for you then you can arrive at 3:00 to take just the exam. We do not feel that this is the optimal way for anyone to take the exam but it can be done. The price for the exam is the same weather you sit through the class or not.

Q. How long does it take to get my results?

A. You will receive an email approximately ten days after the class date letting you know that the class results are in. There will be a link in the body of the email that will take you to the ServSafe website and you will key in your class number that you receive at your class to see your results.

Q. How long will it take to receive my certificate?

A. Certificates are now immediatley available to you afetr the results are posted on the SerfSafe website.

Q. How long is my certificate good for?

A. You will need to renew your ServSafe certification every five years.

Q. Does my certificate belong to me or my employer?

A. The ServSafe certification is for the individual not for a food service establishment.

Q. Is a ServSafe certification mandatory to work in a restaurant or a food service facility?

A. You will need to check with your state and local regulatory authorities to confirm what is required of food service workers and establishments in regards to ServSafe certification.

Q. What if I cannot attend the class that I registered for?

A. You can reschedule for another class date.
